The ARC: Adolescent Research on Context laboratory focuses on the role of contexts in adolescents’ relational, emotional, behavioral, and academic development and well-being. In particular, the contexts that are being studied in the ARC lab include social class, race/ethnicity, culture, and immigration. More specifically, the ARC lab studies how culture-general factors (e.g., socioeconomic status) and group-specific factors (e.g., language brokering, acculturation, culturally relevant parenting, racial/ethnic socialization, discrimination) interact to influence adolescent development.
